Day 166 - Reflections on Swords and Cups

After going through two of the suits I have some thoughts. Mostly about what I would change, add or remove if I was ever to create my own deck of oracle cards.

 

First - nine of cups and ten of cups are way too similar. Moreover if we go by four of cups logic, then nine of cups should be a negative card because it's "happy alone" in a suit focused on relationships. I think both cards should be merged into one, as nine of cups. Then ten of cups could be "memory of those who passed" as a final stage of every relationship.

 

Eight of Cups is way too similar to Six of Swords. Both cards should have been sixes in my opinion. Six of cups would work well as an eight instead, since six of cups is nostalgia - being stuck in the past, while six of swords is being stuck in problems that may not be real. 

So yeah - those are my thoughts on Swords and Cups. Tomorrow I start coins, pentacles or whatever you call it. I shall go with coins.
